Stafford Elementary School held its first “door decorating contest.” They had community heroes coming in to be judges: Chief of Police Brian Gould, Fire Chief Richard Hart, Okee the Fire Dog and Mayor Caggiano to view all of doors and announce who the winner.

Farrell, a professional singer who graces outdoor stages and indoor venues throughout Greater Hartford, is known as “the singing principal.” She brings her singing everywhere in the school — to morning announcements, to lunch, to the hallways. They even dance.
“We sing a lot; we dance a lot,” Farrell said. “I think it just brings positive energy and joy.”

BRISTOL – Stafford Elementary School’s “Singing Principal” Latanya Farrell will perform at a block party celebrating the 100-year anniversary of Waterbury's Palace Theater on Friday, June 10. Farrell is vocalist, songwriter and band leader of the Latanya Farrell Band. She said that she so is eager to perform that "excitement is an understatement." "I am thrilled to be celebrating a very big birthday performing at the Historic Place Theater," she said. "I am ready to bring the party for sure."
